Homemade Lollipop

My boy rarely eats cake. He loves lollipop though. So I made a small treat for him! Yes, I tried a lollipop with the help of a youtube video and my son loved it!
Here is my lil one enjoying the orange flavored lollipop!

Cake Painting

I attended class with Dianna Lopez, from TLC's Ultimate Cake Off! She is an incredible cake artist, so much fun to work with! She taught us the Cake Painting techniques.

This is a 2 tier cake. The top tier is a dummy. The bottom tier had two layers of triple chocolate fudge cake with coconut cake in the middle covered in butter cream icing! And of course Satin Ice rolled fondant on top! Dianna kept few of her cakes to show us the techniques she used. I tried to implement everything and made bit of a mess! However the cake doesn't look so bad.

Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

This is a Red Velvet cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. This is a recipe of Paula Deen from food network pages. Who could handle butter n cheese better than Paula Deen>!! The cake was yummy! So light! Made a few cupcakes and there was batter left. So did the cake as well. Took it to my aunt's place! Everyone loved it. My cousin finished most of it! At last minute I added couple of lilies. Couldn't even find time to put some stamens! :)

Marzipan Strawberry

Here is my trial with Marzipan. Marzipan tastes way better than gum paste..Easy to work with! Tasted like some Indian sweet! I think almond Cake. Of course, marzipan is made out of almond paste..However costlier than gum paste! :(
Anyway here is my strawberry made with help of Toba Garret's, "Professional Cake Decorating" book.
